US TRADE BALANCE, AUGUST 2017

In August 2017, the US goods and services trade deficit decreased by $1.2 billion from July 2017 to $42.4 billion.

The goods deficit decreased by $864 million to $64.4 billion. Goods exports decreased $566 million to $129.2 billion. Goods imports decreased $298 million to $193.6 billion. 

There was a increase of $299 million in the service trade surplus to $22.0 billion as exports increased  $241 million while imports decreased $57 million. 

 

Year-to-date

The Jan-Aug 2017 the US trade deficit increased $29 billion to $361 billion.  Year-to-date goods deficit increased $33.4 billion and the services surplus increased $4.6 billion.
