EU AND EA CURRENT ACCOUNT, 2017Q2

Eurostat reported today, that the euro area (EA19) current account  recorded a surplus of €71.7 billion in the second quarter of 2017. Surpluses in net goods trade (+€81.7 billion), net services trade (+€17.3 billion) and net primary income (+€17.7 billion) account were partially offset by a deficit in net secondary income (-€44.9 billion) account. The EA19 current account is 2.6% of EA19 GDP.

Eurostat reported today, that the Europen Union (EU28) current account  recorded a surplus of €41.9 billion in the second quarter of 2017. Surpluses in net goods trade (+€34.3 billion), and net services trade (+€39.5 billion) were partially offset by deficits in  net primary income (-€7.8 billion) and net secondary income (-€24.1 billion).   The EU28 current account is 1.1% of EU28 GDP.
