CANADA INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE TRADE JULY 2017


In July 2017, Canadian merchandise trade (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted) posted a $3.04 billion deficit. Exports fell by 4.9 per cent from June 2017 to $44.1 billion, but remain 2.2 per cent above levels observed in July 2016.  Canada's imports decreased 6.0 per cent from June to July 2017 reaching $47.2 billion.  Imports are 4.0 per cent above July 2016 levels. 

  

Year-to-date

In Canada Jan-July 2017, the total merchandise trade deficit reached $10.8 billion. Year to date goods exports were valued at $325.8 billion and year to date goods imports were valued at $336.6 billion.
