EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, JUNE 2017

In June 2017, the euro area (EA19) recorded a €26.6 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EA19 exports of goods reported an increase of 3.9 per cent to €187.2 billion over June 2016. Imports increased 6.2 per cent to €160.7 bn over June 2016.

It was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 3.5 per cent to €157.5 bn over June 2016.

In June 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €7.1 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods  reported an increase of 4.0 per cent to €158.0 billion over June 2016. Imports increased 3.9 per cent to €150.9 bn over June 2016.

It was also reported that intra-EU28 area trade increased 3.9 per cent to €286.2 bn over June 2016.

In January-June 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €57.3 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the United States. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods to the US  reported a increase of 4.3 per cent to €189.3 billion over Jan-Jun 2016. Imports increased 4.1 per cent to €132.0 bn over Jan-Jun 2016.

In January-June 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €3.0 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with Canada. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods to Canada  reported a increase of 10.7 per cent to €19.0 billion over Jan-Jun 2016. Imports increased 13.9 per cent to €16.0 bn over Jan-Jun 2016.
