UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, APRIL TO JUNE 2017

  

The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period April 2017 to June 2017 was 4.4 per cent. This is down from the rate of 4.9 per cent compared to the same months a year ago. The UK unemployment rate has not been lower since 1975.

There were 1.48 million unemployed people, 157,000 fewer than for a year earlier.

Employment was at 32.07 million, 338,000 more than for a year earlier.
