TERANET-NATIONAL BANK HOUSE PRICE INDEX, JULY 2017

Halifax home prices as measured by the Teranet-National Bank House Price was down 1.1 per cent in July 2017. The Halifax price level was 1.2 per cent above the July 2016 level. 

For the month of July, the Teranet national index (composite of 11 cities) rose 2.0 per cent. In July, all  11 cities except Halifax experienced increases.

Nationally, (Composite-11) house prices are 14.2 per cent above their levels in July of last year.  The increase was led by Toronto, Hamilton, and Victoria.   

Comparing the first seven months of 2017 to the same period in 2016, Halifax home prices are up 2.6 per cent.  Nationally, (Composite-11) house prices are 13.6 per cent above their levels in the first seven months of last year.

 

Note: As part of the ongoing evolution of the Teranet-National Bank House Price Index, the Composite 6 index (C6) will no longer be available for public download. The Composite 11 index (C11), which contains the same markets from the C6, as well as the additional markets of Victoria, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Quebec City continues to be publicly available for download.
