August 11, 2017US CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JULY 2017 The US Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 0.1 per cent in July from June, on a seasonally adjusted basis. In July, the energy index fell 0.1 per cent, influenced by a decline in fuel oil prices of 2.0 per cent. Food prices rose 0.2 per cent and shelter rose 0.1 per cent month to month.
Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 1.7 per cent before seasonal adjustment, up slightly from 1.6 per cent year over year, last month.
The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.1 per cent in July. For the 12-months ending in July, the index for all items less food and energy rose 1.7 per cent, the energy index increased3.4 per cent, and the food index was up 1.1 per cent.
