US TRADE BALANCE, JUNE 2017

In June 2017, the US goods and services trade deficit narrowed by $2.7 billion from May 2017 to $43.6 billion.

The goods deficit decreased by $2.1 billion to $65.2 billion. Goods exports increased $1.7 billion to $129.0 billion. Goods imports decreased $0.4 billion to $194.3 billion. 

There was an increase of $0.6 billion in the service trade surplus to $21.6 billion as exports rose while imports were unchanged. 

Year-to-date

The Jan-June trade deficit increased $26.7 billion to $276.6 billion.  Although year-to-date goods and services exports increased $64.9 billion, this was outpaced by import gains of $91.7 billion.
