UK TRADE BALANCE MAY 2017

UK import and export trade is a main contributor to the overall economic growth of the UK.

In May 2017,

  • the UK deficit, in the seasonally adjusted goods and services balance of trade,  increased  by £1.0 billion to £3.1 billion from April 2017;
  • the main contributor to the increased deficit was the increase in imports of trade in goods, partially offset by a slight decrease in imports of services.
