CANADA INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE TRADE MAY 2017

In Canada Jan-May 2017, The accumulated merchandise trade deficit reached $3.6 billion. Year to date goods exports were valued at $235.8 billion and year to date goods imports were valued at $239.4 billion.


In May 2017, Canadian merchandise trade (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted) posted a $1.1 million deficit. Over the last 101 months the accumulated deficit stands at $86.1 billion.

In May 2017, exports increased 1.3% over April 2017 to $48.7 billion, and increased 17.8% over May 2016. Over the last 101 months, exports have totaled $3.98 trillion.

In May 2017, imports increased 2.4% over April 2017 to $49.8 billion, and increased 10.2% over May 2016. Over the last 101 months, imports have totaled $4.06 trillion.
