June 30, 2017US PERSONAL INCOME AND OUTLAY, MAY 2017 
Today, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that:
- US personal income increased $67.1 billion, or by 0.4 per cent (all data are seasonally adjusted at annual rates), in May.
- US personal disposable income (DPI) increased $71.7 billion, or by 0.5 per cent.
- US personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $7.3 billion, or by 0.1 per cent month to month.
- Personal savings (disposable personal income minus personal outlays consisting of consumption, interest paid, and transfers to government and the rest of the world) was $791.0 billion in May.
- The personal savings rate (share of DPI) was 5.5 percent in May.
In real terms:
- Real personal disposable income (real DPI) increased 0.6 percent in May.
- Real personal consumption expenditures (real PCE) increased 0.1 percent in May.
