Today, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that:
- US personal income increased $58.4 billion, or by 0.4 per cent (all data are seasonally adjusted at annual rates), in April.
- US personal disposable income (DPI) increased $56.5 billion, or by 0.4 per cent.
- US personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $53.2 billion, or by 0.4 per cent month to month.
- Personal savings (disposable personal income minus personal outlays consisting of consumption, interest paid, and transfers to government and the rest of the world) was $759.1 billion in April.
- The personal savings rate (share of DPI) was 5.3 percent in April.
In real terms:
- real personal disposable income (real DPI) increased 0.2 percent in April.
- real personal consumption expenditures (real PCE) increased 0.2 percent in March.
