May 16, 2017EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, MARCH 2017 In March 2017, the euro area (EA19) recorded a €30.9 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EA19 exports of goods reported an increase of 13 per cent to €202.3 billion over March 2016. Imports increased 14 per cent to €171.4 bn over March 2016.
It was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 12 per cent to €168.1 bn over March 2016.
In March 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €10.5 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods reported an increase of 16 per cent to €175.6 billion over March 2016. Imports increased 14 per cent to €165.1 bn over March 2016.
It was also reported that intra-EU28 area trade increased 11 per cent to €303.1 bn over March 2016.
