May 12, 2017TERANET-NATIONAL BANK HOUSE PRICE INDEX, APRIL 2017
Halifax home prices as measured by the Teranet-National Bank House Price rose 1.4 per cent in April 2017, following a 1.7 per cent decline in March. The Halifax price level was 3.4 per cent above the April 2016 level.
For the month of April, the Teranet national index (composite of 11 cities) rose 1.2 per cent. In April, 8 out of 11 cities experienced increases (Ottawa was unchanged from the previous month).
Nationally, (Composite-11) house prices are 13.4 per cent above their levels in April of last year. The increase was led by Toronto, Hamilton, Victoria and Vancouver.
Comparing the first four months of 2017 to the same period in 2016, Halifax home prices are up 2.9 per cent. Nationally, (Composite-11) house prices are 13.3 per cent above their levels in the first three months of last year.
