In March 2017, Canadian merchandise trade (balance of payments basis, seasonally adjusted) posted a $134.7 million deficit. Over the last 99 months the accumulated deficit stands at $83.6 billion.
In March 2017, exports increased 3.8% over February 2017 to $47.0 billion, and increased 12.9% over March 2016. Over the last 99 months, exports have totaled $3.88 trillion.
In March 2017, imports increased 1.7% over February 2017 to $47.1 billion, and increased 5.6% over March 2016. Over the last 99 months, imports have totaled $3.97 trillion.
