US PERSONAL INCOME AND OUTLAY, MARCH 2017

 

Today, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that:

  • US personal income increased $40.0 billion, or by 0.2 per cent (all data are seasonally adjusted at annual rates), in March.
  • US personal disposable income (DPI) increased $35.0 billion, or by 0.2 per cent, in March.
  • US personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $5.7 billion, or by 0.0 per cent month to month. 
  • Personal savings (disposable personal income minus personal outlays consisting of consumption, interest paid, and transfers to government and the rest of the world) was $849.1 billion in March.
  • The personal savings rate (share of DPI) was 5.9 percent in March.

In real terms:

  • real personal disposable income (real DPI)  increased 0.5 percent in March.
  • real personal consumption expenditures (real PCE) increased 0.3 percent in March.
