April 19, 2017EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, FEBRUARY 2017 In February 2017, the euro area (EA19) recorded a €17.8 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EA19 exports of goods reported an increase of 4 per cent to €170.3 billion over February 2016. Imports increased 5 per cent to €152.6 bn over February 2016.
It was also reported that intra-euro area trade increased 5 per cent to €149.1 bn over February 2016.
In February 2017, the European Union (EU28) recorded a €1.7 bn surplus in trade in goods (not seasonally adjusted) with the rest of the world. The first estimate for EU28 exports of goods reported an increase of 7 per cent to €146.5 billion over February 2016. Imports increased 8 per cent to €144.8 bn over February 2016.
It was also reported that intra-EU28 area trade increased 3 per cent to €265.9 bn over February 2016.
