US TRADE BALANCE, JANUARY 2017

In January 2017, the US goods and services trade deficit increased by $4.2 billion from December to $48.5 billion.

Goods exports increased $1.1 billion to $128.0 billion. The goods imports increased $5.1 billion to $197.6 billion. The goods deficit increased by $4.0 billion to $69.7 billion.

There was a decrease of $252 million in the service trade surplus to $21.2 billion.  

The year-over-year trade deficit increased $5.1 billion to $48.5 billion.
