In Canada 4th Quarter 2016 the seasonally adjusted current account deficit decreased $9.0 billion over the 3rd quarter 2016 to $10.7 billion.
In the 4th quarter 2015:
- exports (receipts) of goods and services increased $6.1 billion to $163.5 billion, while imports (payments) of goods and services decreased $3.3 billion to $168.2 billion. The resulting international goods and services trade deficit decreased $9.5 billion to $4.7 billion.
- primary income receipts increased $1.3 billion to $24.7 billion, while payments increased $1.8 billion to $30.0 billion. The resulting international primary income deficit increased $494 million to $5.2 billion.
- secondary income receipts increased $214 million to $3.1 billion, while payments increased $160 million to $3.9 billion. The resulting international transfers deficit decreased $54 million to $821 million.
- with trade deficit declining ($9.5 bil); primary income deficit increasing ($0.5 bil); and secondary income deficit declining ($54 mil), the current account deficit declined $9.0 billion to $10.7 billion.
ANNUAL
In Canada 2016, the seasonally adjusted current account deficit increased $142 million over 2015 to $65.7 billion.
