UK RETAIL SALES, JANUARY 2017

The UK Office of National Statistics reports that in January 2017 retail sales (volumes based - seasonally adjusted) were down 0.3% over December 2016, and increased 1.5% over January 2016.

Retail sales (seasonally adjusted) value increased 0.0% over December 2016, and increased 3.4% over January 2016.

In January 2017, the amount spent online accounted for 14.6% of all retail (excluding automotive fuels) spending.  The value of the on-line sales decreased 7.2% over December 2016, and increased 10.1% over January 2016.
