February 17, 2017EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, DECEMBER 2016 The European Central Bank reported today, that the euro area (EA19) current account (working day and seasonally adjusted) recorded a surplus of €31.0 billion in December 2016. Surpluses in net goods trade (+€31.7 billion), net services trade (+€4.6 billion) and net primary income (+€5.3 billion) account were partially offset by a deficit in net secondary income (-€10.6 billion) account.
