February 14, 2017TERANET-NATIONAL BANK HOUSE PRICE INDEX, JANUARY 2017
Halifax home prices as measured by the Teranet-National Bank House Price were unchanged in January 2017, following a 0.4 per cent increase in December. The Halifax price level was 1.6 per cent above the January 2016 level.
For the month of January, the Teranet national index (composite of 11 cities) rose 0.5 per cent. For the composite index, the January rise was the twelfth consecutive monthly gain, each time for a new record.
In December, 7 out of 11 cities experienced increases. Vancouver experienced an increase following three months of decline.
Nationally, (Composite-11) house prices are 13.0 per cent above their levels in January of last year, the largest 12-month increase since June 2010.
