February 10, 2017UK TRADE BALANCE DECEMBER 2016 UK import and export trade is a main contributor to the overall economic growth of the UK.
In December 2016,
- the UK deficit in goods and services trade was £3.3 billion, down £0.3 billion from November 2016.
- the narrowing of the trade in goods deficit was mainly due to a £1.1 billion increase in exports of goods to non-EU countries.
In 2016
- the annual trade deficit in goods and services increased to £39.4 billion
- the trade in services surplus increased £5.6 billion to £95.5 billion over 2015.
- the trade in goods deficit increased £15.2 billion to £134.9 billion over 2015.
