February 08, 2017JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNTS DECEMBER 2016 Japan recorded a current account surplus of 1,669 billion yen in December 2016.
In December 2016, Japan posted a net trade (goods and services) surplus of 322 billion yen. The primary income surplus increased to 1,488 billion yen; and the secondary income (transfers) posted a deficit of 141 billion yen.
Goods exports increased 269 billion yen to 6.356 trilion yen while goods imports increased 363 billion yen to 5.827 trillion yen, yielding a diminished 529 billion yen surplus in goods trade. The net services deficit increased to 206 billion yen in December. Thus, the goods and services surplus declined to 322 billion yen.
