Nova Scotia Environment and Labour has been replaced by two New provincial government departments - Nova Scotia Labour and Workforce Development and Nova Scotia Environment. Resources and information from the old site have been moved to one of two new websites:

Nova Scotia Environment

This newly created department is continuing the work that has made Nova Scotia a leader in achieving environmentally-sustainable economic prosperity.

Major program responsibilities for Nova Scotia Environment are environmental and natural areas management, environmental monitoring and compliance, and climate change. Pollution prevention, the NS Youth Conservation Corps., solid waste reduction and recycling, and environmental trade and innovation are all part of the new Nova Scotia Environment.

Labour and Workforce Development

The Labour Division of Environment and Labour has joined the new Department of Labour and Workforce Development. This new department will provide Nova Scotia employers with an integrated approach to workforce development focused on leading edge working conditions and opportunities for skill development.

The department is also responsible for enforcing safety regulations on much of the equipment, products and services Nova Scotians use on a daily basis.
