JUSTICE--CONFLICT OF INTEREST COMMISSIONER

Nova Scotia has a new Conflict of Interest Commissioner.
Justice D. Merlin Nunn has been appointed to the position,
replacing Justice Alexander Macintosh who stepped down in June
after seven years at the post.
The commissioner is appointed under the Members and Public
Employees Disclosure Act and investigates complaints regarding
alleged conflict of interest by members of the public service or
elected representatives.
Justice Nunn is a native Nova Scotian. He has served as a trial
judge for the past 15 years. His appointment takes effect
immediately.
