2008 Award Recipients: A.G. MacRae

Mr. MacRae was driving to a basketball game with his family when he came upon a flipped truck with its engine in flames on Highway 103. Mr. MacRae pulled over and went immediately into the vehicle where he found a panicking mother and her eleven year-old boy who was trapped in his seatbelt with blood around his ears.

There was fuel spilling into the cab of the truck however Mr. MacRae worked to untangle the young boy and then pulled him to safety. With the vehicle now in flames. Mr. MacRae raced back to save the mother.

Once he had the mother and son to safety, there were popping noises from the engine as if it was going to blow. Fire and police then attended the scene.
