Musquobodoit Valley Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 73-610 (June 19, 1973), N.S. Reg. 132/73


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 31st day of May, A.D., 1973, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at or near the Village of Middle Musquodoboit, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, also attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Musquodoboit Valley Provincial Park”.

Musquodoboit Valley Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being near the Village of Middle Musquodoboit, County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on Plan #E-5-28 on file at the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at an Iron Pin No. H4639, situate where the easterly boundary of lands appearing to be now or formerly owned by P. L. Fisk intersects the southern boundary of the public highway No. 224 leading from Middle Musquodoboit to Upper Musquodoboit;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) S 36° 54' 12" E, 88.7 feet to Iron Pin No. H4640 situate on the northern boundary of the C.N.R. right-of-way;


Thence crossing the said C.N.R. right-of-way S 36° 54' 12" E, 110.65 feet to Iron Pin No. H4641 situate on the south boundary of the aforementioned C.N.R. right-of-way;


Thence S 36° 54' 12" E, 36.3 feet to Iron Pin No. H4641A situate on the east bank of a brook flowing into the Musquodoboit River;


Thence in a southerly and southwesterly direction following the east bank of the said brook to Iron Pin No. H4642 situate on the northern bank of the Musquodoboit River, said Iron Pin bearing S 01° 08' 18" W, 231.9 feet from the last mentioned Iron Pin No. H4641A;


Thence crossing the Musquodoboit River to Iron Pin No. H4643 situate on the south bank of Musquodoboit River and bearing S 71° 18' 24" W, 394.0 feet from the last mentioned Iron Pin No. H4642;


Thence S 36° 14' 00" E, 2689.9 feet to Iron Pin No. H4644 situate on the northern edge of MacKeen Lake;


Thence following the edge of the said MacKeen Lake in a northerly, easterly and southerly direction to Iron Pin No. H4645, said Iron Pin bearing N 56° 14' 18" E, 497.0 feet from the last mentioned Iron Pin No. H4644;


Thence N 56° 00' 42" E, 740.5 feet to Iron Pin No. H4646;


Thence N 35° 52' 42" W, 939.7 feet following an old fence to Iron Pin No. H4647, situate on the south bank of the Musquodoboit River before mentioned;


Thence crossing the said Musquodoboit River to Iron Pin No. H4647;


Thence following the aforementioned old fence N 30° 05' 145.9 feet to Iron Pin No. H4650;


Thence continuing along the said fence N 18° 27' 30" W, 802.2 feet to Iron Pin No. H4651 situate on the south boundary of the before mentioned C.N.R. right-of-way;


Thence N 77° 7' 6" W, 114.5 feet to Iron Pin No. H4652 situate on the north boundary of the C.N.R. right-of-way;


Thence N 29° 40' 24" W, 133.3 feet to Iron Pin No. H4653 situate on the southern boundary of Highway No. 224 leading from Middle Musquodoboit to Upper Musquodoboit before mentioned and is being N 58° 18' 12" E, 945.85' feet from the place of beginning;


Thence following the south boundary of the said highway No. 224 in a southwesterly direction to the place of beginning.


Saving and excepting that portion of the C.N.R. right-of-way which passes through the lands herein described. The said lot containing 75 acres more or less.
