Ellenwood Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 71-1160 (November 23, 1971), N.S. Reg. 90/71


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 15th day of November, A.D., 1971, pursuant to Section 2 of the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Ellenwood Lake in the County of Yarmouth, Province of Nova Scotia, to he a provincial park, the said area of land being more particularly described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation and shown outlined on the plan of survey marked Schedule “B” also attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Ellenwood Lake Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”

Ellenwood Lake Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Ellenwood Lake in the County of Yarmouth, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on Plan #E-8-25 recorded in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a Crown Land iron post standing at the northwest margin of Agard Lake and marking the northeasterly corner of lands now or formerly owned by Lawrence Kent Sweeney;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) north sixty-one degrees thirty-four minutes west, six hundred eighty-seven decimal thirty-nine feet to a Crown land iron post standing on the easterly boundary of the Mood Mill Road and marking the northwesterly corner of lands now or formerly owned by Lawrence Kent Sweeney;


Thence northerly following the easterly limit of the Mood Mill Road to a Crown land iron post standing on the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Malcolm Cann as marked by a wire fence;


Thence along the said wire fence by the following bearings and distances: South sixty degrees forty-six minutes east, two hundred eighty-seven decimal ten feet; thence south sixty-one degrees thirty-nine minutes east, one hundred ninety-one decimal twenty-seven feet; thence south sixty-five degrees thirty-four minutes east, one hundred sixty-eight decimal twenty-three feet; thence south sixty-two degrees thirty-one minutes east, one hundred sixty-five decimal forty feet; thence south sixty-two degrees twenty-two minutes east, one hundred eighty-six decimal twelve feet; thence south fifty-eight degrees thirty-six minutes east, three hundred forty-one decimal fifty-five feet; thence south sixty degrees fifty-six minutes east, one hundred eighty-eight decimal twenty-three feet; thence south sixty-eight degrees fifty minutes east, one hundred sixty-two decimal eighty-two feet to the end of the said wire fence;


Thence south sixty degrees thirty-eight minutes east, three hundred twelve decimal eighteen feet along the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Ernest W. Rhudo;


Thence along the said Rhudo lands and the lands now or formerly owned by Harvard MacMullen south sixty-two degrees forty minutes east, three hundred sixty-four decimal thirty-two feet to a point;


Thence south sixty-one degrees twenty-two minutes east, five hundred fifty-three decimal seventy-four feet along the said MacMullen lands to a Crown land iron post standing on the westerly shore of Ellenwood Lake;


Thence following the various courses of the said western shore of Ellenwood Lake southerly and southwesterly to the outlet thereof;


Thence along the northern margin of the outlet westerly to the eastern margin of Agard Lake;


Thence along the various courses of the eastern and northern margin of Agard Lake northerly and northwesterly to the place of beginning containing two hundred and eighty-one acres more or less.
