Colindale Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 76-1214 (October 19, 1976), N.S. Reg. 151/76


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 1st day of October, A.D., 1976, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Colindale Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-76, marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.


Schedule “A”


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Colindale Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-76, attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at an iron post # W11 situated on the southwest end of the sand beach and approximately forty feet south of the mean high waterline of Northumberland Strait;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) south eighty-seven degrees forty-two minutes twenty-seven seconds east a distance of one thousand three hundred fifty-eight decimal sixty-one feet to an iron post # W9;


Thence north six degrees twenty-eight minutes five seconds east a distance of seven hundred seven decimal seventy-one feet to an iron post # W10 being approximately fifteen feet south from the mean high waterline of Northumberland Strait;


Thence north twenty-four degrees thirty minutes west a distance of two thousand one hundred sixty feet to a point situate in the waters of Northumberland Strait;


Thence south sixty-six degrees twenty-five minutes forty-six seconds west a distance of one thousand five hundred seventy-seven decimal twelve feet to a point situate in the waters of Northumberland Strait;


Thence south twenty-four degrees thirty minutes east a distance of two thousand one hundred eighty feet to the place of beginning.


Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.
