Trade Names Equivalency Regulations

made under Section 29 of the
Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act

1 These regulations may be cited as the Trade Names Equivalency Regulations.

2 For the purposes of the trade regulations made pursuant to Section 41 of Chapter 17 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act,

(a) "Bricklaying Trade" shall be read as Bricklayer Trade;

(b) "Cooking Trade" shall be read as Cook Trade;

(c) "Electrical Construction Trade" shall be read as Construction Electrician Trade;

(d) "Farm Equipment Repair Trade" shall be read as Farm Equipment Mechanic Trade;

(e) "Industrial Electrical Trade" shall be read as Industrial Electrician Trade;

(f) "Industrial Instrumentation Trade" shall be read as Industrial Instrument Mechanic Trade;

(g) "Lineman Trade" shall be read as Powerline Technician Trade;

(h) "Metal Fabricator Trade" shall be read as Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Trade;

(i) "Motor Vehicle Repair (Body) Trade" shall be read as Motor Vehicle Body Repairer (Metal and Paint) Trade;

(j) "Motor Vehicle Repair (Bus & Transport) Trade" shall be read as Truck & Transport Mechanic Trade;

(k) "Motor Vehicle Repair (Mechanical) Trade" shall be read as Automotive Service Technician Trade;

(l) "Motor Vehicle Repair (Heavy Duty) Trade" shall be read as Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Trade;

(la) "Oil Burner Mechanic Trade" shall be read as Oil Burner Installer and Maintenance Mechanic Trade;

(m) "Painting and Decorating Trade" shall be read as Painter and Decorator Trade;

(n) "Plumbing Trade" shall be read as Plumber Trade;

(o) "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade" shall be read as Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade;

(p) "Sheet Metal Trade" shall be read as Sheet Metal Worker Trade;

(q) "Sprinkler - Fitter Trade" shall be read as Sprinkler System Installer Trade;

(r) "Steamfitting Trade" shall be read as Steamfitter/Pipefitter Trade;

(s) "Welding Trade (C, B, and A levels)" shall be read as Welder (C, B, and A levels) Trade,

wherever it appears in the trade regulations.
