Sable River Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 82-652 (May 25, 1982), N.S. Reg. 120/82


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 6th day of May, A.D., 1982, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

       (a)    constitute all that area of land situate at Sable River, in the County of Shelburne, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A”, and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-5-76 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

       (b)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Sable River Provincial Park”.


Schedule “A”

Sable River Provincial Park


All those two certain lots, pieces or parcels of land situate, lying and being at Sable River, in the County of Shelburne, Province of Nova Scotia, being Lot No. 1 and Lot No. 2 as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-5-76 marked Schedule “B” attached hereto, the said two parcels of land being more particularly described as follows:


Lot No. 1

Beginning at Survey Marker No. S 604A situated on the westerly boundary of Highway No. 3;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1977) S 76° 39' 00" W, 146.08 feet crossing an abandoned former portion of Highway No. 3 to Survey Marker No. S604 situated on the westerly boundary of the said abandoned portion of Highway No. 3;


Thence continuing S 76° 39' 00" W, 5709.47 feet along the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Raymond Schaller to Survey Marker No. S603 situated on the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Mrs. Connie Holgate;


Thence S 24° 07' 42" E, 1026.70 feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Mrs. Connie Holgate to Survey Marker No. S602;


Thence N 76° 39' 00" E, 5621.55 feet along the northerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alvin Williamson to Survey Marker No. S601 situated on the mean high water mark of a branch of Sable River;


Thence in a northerly direction along the various courses of the mean high water mark of a branch of Sable River, 507 feet more or less to Survey Marker No. S605, said Survey Marker being N 32° 53' 00" W, 374.48 feet from the last described point;


Thence continuing in an easterly direction along the various courses of the mean high water mark of a branch of Sable River, 228 feet more or less to Survey Marker No. S606A situated on the westerly boundary of the aforementioned Highway No. 3, said Survey Marker being N 49° 09' 05" E, 221.66 feet from the last described point;


Thence N 31° 44' 54" W, 121.51 feet along the westerly boundary of the said Highway No. 3 to Survey Marker No. S605A at the beginning of a curve to the right.


Thence continuing along the westerly boundary of the said Highway No. 3 and following the arc of the said curve to the right, 448 feet more or less to the place of beginning, said place of beginning being N 12° 00' 07"W, 442.17 feet from the last described point.


The above described Lot No. 1 contains 132 acres more or less.


Lot No. 2

Beginning at Survey Marker No. S607 situated at the intersection of the westerly boundary of the existing Highway No. 3 with an abandoned former portion of Highway No. 3;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1977) N 33° 56' 24" W, 521.40 feet along the westerly boundary of the existing Highway No. 3 to Survey Marker No. S609 situated at a point where the said highway boundary intersects the mean high water mark on the east side of a branch of Sable River;


Thence following the various courses of the mean high water mark of a branch of Sable River in a southwesterly and southeasterly direction, 480 feet more or less to Survey Marker No. S608 situated at a point where the mean high water mark intersects the before described westerly boundary of an abandoned former portion of Highway No. 3, said Survey Marker being S 28° 06' 16" E, 374.76 feet from the last described point;


Thence S 48° 19' 24" E, 153.39 feet along the westerly boundary of the said abandoned former portion of Highway No. 3 to the place of beginning.


The above described Lot No. 2 contains 0.8 acres more or less.
