Northport Beach Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 74-1376 (December 19, 1974), N.S. Reg. 127/74


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 26th day of November, A.D., 1974, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at or near Northport, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Northport Beach Provincial Park”.

Northport Beach Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at or near Northport, County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, as the same is shown on Plan E-5-25, recorded in the Crown Land Registry office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) marked 1249 set on the northern boundary of Highway No. 366 and the most westerly corner of lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton;


Thence north seventy-nine degrees eleven minutes thirty seconds west (N 79° 11' 30" W) along the northern boundary of said Highway No. 366 distant one hundred sixteen decimal seven (116.7) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 1253 set on the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton;


Thence north twenty-seven degrees thirty seconds east (N 27° 00' 30" E) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant six hundred twenty decimal two (620.2) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 1252;


Thence north forty-seven degrees forty-five minutes thirty seconds west (N 47° 45' 30" W) along the northern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant five hundred thirteen decimal four (513.4) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north twenty-nine degrees twenty minutes thirty seconds east (N 29° 20' 30" E) along the eastern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant three hundred fifty-four decimal four (354.4) feet to a stake;


Thence north twenty-nine degrees forty-one minutes thirty seconds east (N 29° 41' 30" E) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant three hundred forty-five decimal seven (345.7) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north twenty-seven degrees fifty minutes thirty seconds east (N 27° 50' 30" E) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant sixty-nine decimal zero (69.0) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north forty-six degrees nine minutes thirty seconds west (N 46° 09' 30" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant four hundred seventy-eight decimal two (478.2) feet to a stake;


Thence north forty-six degrees thirty seconds west (N 46° 00' 30" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant two hundred twelve decimal nine (212.9) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north forty-six degrees thirty seconds west (N 46° 00' 30" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander distant six (6) feet to a brook;


Thence northeasterly along said brook being on the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Donald Brander to the mean high water mark of the Northumberland Strait;


Thence southeasterly along the mean high water mark of the said Northumberland Strait to a point being north twenty-six degrees twenty-nine minutes thirty seconds east (N 26° 29' 30" E) distant one hundred fifteen (115) feet more or less from a C.L.I.P. set on the northwestern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Mrs. Robert Campbell;


Thence south twenty-six degrees twenty-nine minutes thirty seconds west (S 26° 29' 30" W) along the northwestern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Mrs. Robert Campbell distant one hundred fifteen (115) feet more or less to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence south twenty-six degrees twenty-nine minutes thirty seconds west (S 26° 29' 30" W) along the northwestern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Mrs. Robert Campbell distant three hundred decimal zero (300.0) feet to a C.L.I.P. set on the northeastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton;


Thence north forty-seven degrees thirty-five minutes thirty seconds west (N 47° 35' 30" W) along the northeastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant two hundred eighty-five decimal three (285.3) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence south eighty-five degrees thirty-eight minutes thirty seconds west (S 85° 38' 30" W) along the northern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant thirty-six decimal one (36.1) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 1251;


Thence south twenty-six degrees four minutes thirty seconds west (S 26° 04' 30" W) along the western boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant six hundred forty-eight decimal thirty-five (648.35) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked 1250;


Thence south twenty-seven degrees thirty seconds west (S 27° 00' 30" W) along the western boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Hibbert Oulton distant five hundred eighty-seven decimal nine (587.9) feet to the place of beginning.


The above bearings are astronomic.


The above described lands containing an area of twenty decimal four (20.4) acres more or less.
