Gulf Shore Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-135 (February 8, 1972), N.S. Reg. 123/72


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 25th day of January, A.D., 1972, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Gulf Shore in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B” both attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Gulf Shore Provincial Park”.


Schedule “A”

Gulf Shore Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate lying and being at or near Gulf Shore, County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, shown as Lands of Gulf Shore Provincial Park on plan number E-5-3 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, Nova Scotia, said land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Land iron post number C725 situated on the northern boundary of the highway leading from Gulf Shore to Pugwash said post also being the southwesterly corner of land now or formerly of Charles McFarlane;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) south seventy-five degrees twelve minutes west, one hundred ninety decimal nine feet along the northerly boundary of aforementioned highway to Crown Land iron post number C724;


Thence north twenty-one degrees twenty-one minutes west, ninety-eight decimal three feet along the easterly boundary of lands new or formerly of Olive Smith to Crown Land iron post number C723;


Thence south seventy-three degrees fifty-seven minutes west, one hundred twenty-seven decimal two feet along the northerly boundary of lands of the aforementioned Olive Smith to Crown Land iron post number C722;


Thence south twenty-one degrees thirty-five minutes east, ninety-seven decimal zero feet along the westerly boundary of lands of the aforementioned Olive Smith to Crown Land iron post number C721 situated on the northerly boundary of aforementioned highway leading from Gulf Shore to Pugwash;


Thence following the northerly boundary of said highway in a southwesterly direction to Crown Land iron post number C720, said post being on a bearing from the last previously described post number C721 south forty-eight degrees fifty-seven minutes west, nine hundred forty decimal seven feet;


Thence north twelve degrees seven minutes west, one thousand fifty decimal seven feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Dorothy Webb to Crown Land iron post number C719 situated on the mean high water line of the Northumberland Strait;


Thence continuing north twelve degrees seven minutes west, sixty feet more or less to the low water line of Northumberland Strait;


Thence northeasterly along the various courses of the low water line of Northumberland Strait for approximately one thousand three hundred fifty feet to a point on a prolongation of the line passing through Crown Land iron post number C725 and C726;


Thence south three degrees thirty-seven minutes east, one hundred feet more or less to aforementioned Crown Land iron post number C726 situated on the mean high water line of Northumberland Strait;


Thence continuing south three degrees thirty-seven minutes east, eight hundred eighty-nine decimal seven feet along the westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Charles McFarlane the place of beginning containing twenty-three acres more or less.
