Groves Point Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 80-1185 (August 26, 1980), N.S. Reg. 142/80


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 15th day of August, A.D., 1980, and pursuant to the Provincial Parks Act, Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes, 1967, Section 2, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land situate at Groves Point, in the County of Cape Breton, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Lands Records Plan No. E-13-7 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Groves Point Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece, parcel or tract of land situate, lying and being at Groves Point, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-13-7 marked Schedule “B” attached hereto, which lot is more particularly bounded and described as follows:


Thence at Crown Land Iron Post C.B. 2656 situate at the intersection of the southern boundary of the highway from Kempt Head to Point Aconi with the western boundary of lands of Alvin Day;


Thence by grid azimuth 179° 17' 04", a distance of 1263.63 feet along the western boundary of lands of said Alvin Day and the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Mrs. Sadie MacKinnon to Crown Land Iron Post C.B. 2686 situate on the mean high water mark of St. Andrews Channel;


Thence northerly a distance of 1800 feet more or less following the several and various courses of the mean high water mark of St. Andrews Channel to a point on the southern boundary of the aforementioned highway from Kempt Head to Point Aconi;


Thence easterly a distance of 20 feet following the southern boundary of said highway to an iron pipe, which iron pipe is distant 1595.51 feet on a grid azimuth of 326° 30' 08" from Crown Land Iron Post C.B. 2686;


Thence easterly a distance of 696 feet more or less following the southern boundary of said highway to the place of beginning, which point is distant 695.77 feet on a grid azimuth of

102° 26' 20" from said iron pipe.


This lot contains 10.2 acres more or less.


All azimuths and distances are grid and based on the Nova Scotia Three Degree Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, Central Meridian 61° 30' west longitude, scale factor 0.9999985, 1972 datum.
