Greenhill Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 84-247 (March 6, 1984), N.S. Reg. 39/84


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 16th day of February, A.D., 1984, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    rescind Order in Council 75-164 dated the 11th day of February, A.D., 1975, which Order established Greenhill Provincial Park;

 

                (b)    constitute all that area of land situate at Greenhill, in the County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “C” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-5-43A marked Schedule “D”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (c)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Greenhill Provincial Park”.



Schedule “C”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in or near the community of Greenhill, Pictou County, Province of Nova Scotia and shown on Crown Land Registry Plan Number E-5-43A filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office, Halifax, Nova Scotia, said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1708 situated on the westerly boundary of a public road leading from Greenhill to Sylvester, said survey marker being situated also at the southeasterly angle of lands now or formerly of Fraser Ross, said survey marker being also S 71° 37' E (magnetic bearing 1972 A.D.), 771.3 feet more or less from Geodetic Survey Monument Greenhill;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1972 A.D.) S 21° 16' W, 1398.1 feet more or less following the westerly boundary of the said public road leading from Greenhill to Sylvester to Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1707 situated at the northeasterly angle of lands now or formerly of Fraser MacDonald;


Thence N 68° 20' W, 548.5 feet more or less following the northerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Fraser MacDonald to Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1706 situated on the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of A. K. MacKenzie;


Thence N 06° 48' E, 549.6 feet more or less following the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of A. K. MacKenzie to Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1705;


Thence N 06° 37' E, 485.3 feet more or less continuing to follow the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of A. K. MacKenzie to Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1704;


Thence N 07° 28' E, 368.0 feet more or less continuing to follow the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of A. K. MacKenzie to Crown Land Survey Marker No. 1703 situated at the southwesterly angle of lands now or formerly of the aforementioned Fraser Ross;


Thence S 71° 01' E, 93.8 feet more or less following the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Fraser Ross to a point at the northwesterly angle of a Department of Lands and Forests fire tower lot;


Thence S 18° 59' W, 60.0 feet following the westerly boundary of the Department of Lands and Forests fire tower lot to a point;


Thence S 71° 01' E, 60.0 feet following the southerly boundary of the Department of Lands and Forests fire tower lot to a point;


Thence N 18° 59' E, 60.0 feet following the easterly boundary of the Department of Lands and Forests fire tower lot to a point situated on the aforementioned southerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Fraser Ross;


Thence S 71° 01' E, 742.0 feet following the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Fraser Ross to the place of beginning containing 23 acres more or less.
