Registration of Converted Passenger Vehicles as Commercial Vehicles

regulations made under Section 10 of the
Motor Vehicle Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 293
O.I.C. April 17, 1942, N.S. Reg. 25/42

1 Vehicles originally designed as passenger vehicles may be registered as commercial vehicles only when converted in the case of each of the following types in the manner hereinafter set forth:

(a) Sedan: All seats and upholstery to the rear of the driver's seat shall be removed; the rear side doors shall be permanently fastened, and a door or doors shall be fitted to the rear of the body;

(b) Coach: All seats and upholstery to the rear of the driver's seat shall be removed and a door or doors shall be fitted to the rear of the body;

(c) Coupe: The rear compartment cover shall be removed and a body of solid construction shall be built permanently into the rear compartment, and such body shall extend at least two feet to the rear of the original body, to the full width of compartment opening, with sides eighteen inches high.
